The Club World Cup will look differently in 2025 as 32 teams will enter looking to be crowned world champions/
Here, you’ll find out everything you need to know about the new tournament.
Tournament Format
Featuring teams from all FIFA confederations, 32 sides will enter, and they’ll be split into eight groups of four.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for a knockout stage with the last two teams contesting the final.
Team Qualification
Four teams will qualify from the Asian region featuring the best performers over a four-year period from the Asian Champions League.
Africa will also have four slots and that will be based on how teams have fared in the CAF Champions League from the last four years.
Also having four places will be the CONCACAF area and those spots will go the last four winners of the CONCACAF Champions League.
CONMEBOL will provide six teams from South America and that will include the last four winners of the Copa Libertadores along with teams who have a good ranking.
OFC will send one team and that’s going to be Auckland City who have the best record in that region.
UEFA have the most places with 12 teams coming from Europe based on their four-year ranking.
With America hosting the tournament, their region also gets a bonus place.

Venues
Venue details have not been confirmed yet, but the competition will be staged in America with the majority of games taking place on the East Coast.
Schedule
The tournament will get underway on June 2025 and will run until July 13 2025, when the final takes place.
The draw for the competition still hasnt took place and when that happens, schedule details will be updated.
