Bidding on the Ball: A Guide
The auction is exclusively available to Socios.com users. To participate you must download the Socios.com app, register and verify your account and top-up your $CHZ wallet.
If you already have a verified Socios.com account, proceed to submit your bid.
Once you register an account on Socios.com, an email will be sent to the address you have provided. You just need to click on the link in the email.
Your $CHZ will be used only if your bid is successful. If you are outbid, you will retain your $CHZ on your Socios.com account. Please note that Socios.com is not offering exchange services from crypto assets to FIAT, so you will have to transfer your $CHZ out of Socios.com to sell them at the market price.
Verify your identity
If the bid is under €1499.99, you may participate in the auction by simply verifying your identity and answering a few Know Your Customer questions as it will be requested on the app.
1. Access Profile Settings

- Tap the ‘Personal Verification’ tab.
- Tap the ‘Verify your identity’ tab
2. Enter Personal Details
- Fill in your full name, surname, date of birth, and nationality.
- Ensure the information matches your ID documents.
- Note that additional requirements may apply based on your country.
- Tap the ‘Proceed’ button after entering your details.
3. Choose and Upload Identity Document
- Select one of the following documents to photograph real time and upload (please note that depending on your nationality not all of the below may be accepted):
- ID Card
- Passport
- Driving License
- Fill in your document details.
- Tap the ‘Proceed’ button.
4. Use Camera for Document and Biometric Verification
- Choose the ‘Use camera’ option and grant the Socios.com app permission to access your camera.
- Take pictures of the front and back of your chosen identity document.
- Complete the biometric scan of yourself.
Tips for a Successful Verification:
- Ensure all details and all four corners of your document are visible.
- Avoid mirrored images.
- Turn off the flash to prevent glare.
- Make sure your document is not expired.
- Confirm you are over 18 years old.
- Only one person should participate in the verification process.
- Perform all steps in real time.
The verifications team will review your documents and contact you if additional information is needed.
Once your identity is verified and you have topped-up your wallet with $CHZ, you may place your bid.
Verifying your residential address
If the bid is equal to or over €1500.00, first complete the above steps then follow the below steps to verify your residential address.
1. Access Profile Settings
- Tap the profile icon in the top left corner.
- Tap the ‘Personal Verification’ tab.
- Tap the ‘Verify your identity’ tab
2. Enter Address Details
- Fill in your residential address details.
- Tap the ‘Proceed’ button.
3. Select and Submit Address Verification Document
- Choose the type of document you want to use for address verification.
- Ensure your document includes: Your full name Your residential address A date (issued within the last 3 months) A logo or clear name of the document issuer (e.g., bank, utilities provider, or local authority)
- Tap the ‘Proceed’ button.
4. Upload the Document
- Choose between:
- ‘Use Camera’ to take photos of the original document
- ‘Upload a document’ to upload a photo from your phone
- Attach the photo of your document.
- Tap ‘Continue’ and then ‘Submit’.
The verifications team will review your documents and contact you once they are verified or if further documentation is needed.
Once your residential address is verified, you may proceed with your bid.
