Explaining transactions on Socios.com

The following article provides an overview of transactions on Socios.com, covering CHZ top-ups, sending and receiving assets, fees, and advice should you encounter any issues.

Topping up your account

To top up your account with CHZ, click on ‘Top-up’ in the wallet and then select the currency you would like to use to purchase CHZ.

Next, enter the amount you would like to spend. The amount you will receive in CHZ will be shown below. Then click on ‘select payment’ and choose from the variety of payment methods available to complete the purchase.

Sending or receiving assets?  Use Chiliz Chain-compatible wallets only.

The Socios.com Wallet has been designed to provide users with an easy to follow experience for sending and receiving assets. However, there are important things that all users need to be aware of.

The Socios.com Wallet is built on Chiliz Chain, which means:

You can only send assets (CHZ, Fan Tokens, PEPPER and NFTs) to wallets that are compatible with Chiliz Chain.

You can only deposit assets (CHZ, Fan Tokens, PEPPER and NFTs) from wallets that are compatible with Chiliz Chain.

When using third-party wallets to send or receive assets, it is essential that you select the ‘Chiliz Chain’ network. If this option is unavailable, then do not use the wallet! If you send assets to or from an incompatible wallet you’ll lose them.

Also – when depositing assets to your Socios.com Wallet please be sure to copy your address carefully and double-check it’s correct before sending.

Always start with transferring a small amount in case of doubts.

If you have upgraded to the new wallet.

If you’re an existing customer and have upgraded to the new wallet, please be aware that your wallet address has changed. Make sure to update your Socios.com wallet address in your external wallets.

Fees

Why do I need to pay fees for certain transactions?

Certain transactions carried out in the Socios.com wallet, such as using CHZ to buy Fan Tokens or sending and receiving assets, are executed on the Chiliz Chain.

A fee, known as ‘gas’ or a ‘gas fee,’ is required to execute these transactions. These gas fees are paid in CHZ. This is standard across most blockchain-based wallets.

Why would a transaction fail?

Transactions occasionally fail on blockchains for many different reasons, but these are typically temporary or due to things like slippage being exceeded (the difference between the expected price of an order and the actual price). Make sure to check the error message, which will normally explain the root cause of the issue.

Why did I pay a fee if my transaction failed?

This depends on the point at which the transaction fails. If the transaction fails after it has been written in the block files and recorded on the blockchain, the fee may still be applicable.

Why was the amount deducted not the same as the original fee shown?

Fees can rise due to an increase in blockchain traffic. The more transactions happening at the same time, the greater the fee will be.
