During the Italian Super Cup Final in January, Fan Token holders were able to redeem an extremely rare and unique piece of merchandise to add to their collections.
Each time a goal was scored in the final, the ball was collected, and replaced with a new one. The collected ball was fitted with an NFC chip, and made available for fans to retrieve via Socios.com Collectibles.
That final made Inter Fan Token holders extremely happy, with the balls being available via reverse auctions on the Socios.com app.
We know you loved that, so we’ve got an important announcement to make: they are BACK!
Socios.com Collectibles for the Serie A and Coppa Italia
This time, Socios.com Collectibles collaborated with Serie A and Coppa Italia to bring you more opportunities to collect rare merch. Remember, each ball is authenticated and validated on the blockchain, giving proof of the ball’s origin and ownership, making sure they are the real deal.
For the remainder of the season, each time one of Socios.com’s Italian partners plays, and scores, those balls will be made available to Fan Token holders of the goal-scoring team.
But look out for more Game-Scored Balls from clubs outside that list, as our collaboration extends to more Serie A matches too.
What are Socios.com Collectibles for the Serie A & Coppa Italia
Socios.com Collectibles is powered by Socios Collectibles.com™, technology that ensures each match-used item is authentic, using the blockchain to prove the origin and ownership of each item. Bringing this concept to the remainder of the Serie A season and Coppa Italia gives fans the unique opportunity to collect the Game-Scored Balls from over 20 matches in total.
How do they work?
Collect – Chip – Redeem
It’s a three-step process. When a goal is scored, that specific ball is collected by match officials. The in-game matchball gets replaced, but the Game-Scored Ball gets fitted with an NFC chip and QR Code – made ready for collection.
The NFC chip uses Socios Collectibles technology to authenticate and validate the item, making it foolproof and ensuring the ball is exactly what it says on the label. It is also fitted with a QR code, which when scanned, gives the new owner a token memory of the moment the ball hit the back of the net.
How can you own a Game-Scored Ball?
Each game week, we’ll announce the method of collection, be it via Fan Reward, competition, quiz or random draw… so we suggest you keep subscribing to our emails for more information.
The balls will be available for Fan Token holders, so ensure you have Fan Tokens in your Socios.com wallets too. Top up by following these steps:
1. Open the Socios.com app and tap on Wallet.
2. Top up your Wallet with our in-app currency, Chiliz ($CHZ)
3. Tap on Sports, tap on All Teams and then hit Football to filter out football teams. Then search for your side and get your Fan Tokens using the $CHZ you just bought.
